Hi there! My name is Kaitlin (Porter) Williams and I am a current OMS II at Rocky Vista University located in Parker, CO. My current specialty interests include General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Emergency Medicine, and Critical Care.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
2018 - 2020
SENIOR LEAD SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST
ANNE ARUNDEL DERMATOLOGY
First assist to the attending physician during all surgical procedures.
Trained over 12 technologists and became a lead technologist to over seven physicians.
Completed patient intake and vitals while providing patient education regarding the Mohs Micrographic Surgery and various dermatologic surgeries.
Presented patient health history and the case to the attending physician.
Allocated roles and led surgical team of the day, ranging from 4-12 technicians to work as efficiently as possible.
2017 - 2018
MEDICAL ASSISTANT
ANNAPOLIS ENT ASSOCIATES
Managed patient visitation schedules for eight (8) physicians and Physician Assistants (PA).
Advised, consulted, and treated patients as per the instructions and guidance of the physician.
Gathered medical history information and measured patient vital signs.
Processed culture and biopsy samples for conducting diagnostic testing in the appropriate laboratory.
Aided the physician during procedures.

RECOGNITION AND ACHIEVEMENTS
1ST PLACE RVUCOM SIMULATION COMPETITION
Was a part of a 3-person team that competed in RVUCOM's cross-campus simulation competition. Our patient had a subarachnoid hemorrhage where my teammates and I had to fully assess and work up in an emergent setting while being evaluated by a board of physicians.
SIGMA SIGMA PHI OMICRON THETA HONORS SOCIETY
Was invited to into SSP during my second semester of 1st year and have been an active member since. To be invited to apply to SSP, one must be in the top 25% of the class, maintain over a 3.0 GPA, and complete at least 15 hours of service each year.
URBAN UNDERSERVED HONORS TRACK
One of my passions in medicine is to be an advocate for underserved populations and to work to improve public health outcomes. Being a part of UTT has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding regarding a diverse number of marginalized communities, so I can be better equipped to not only take care of them, but to also help voice their concerns to a larger audience, encouraging further change.
